Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led, practical, blended, and simulator-based EHS and technical training at project sites across the United States.
• Facilitate training covering Critical Risk Management, Critical Control Verifications, LOTO, electrical safety, fall protection, confined space, PPE, hazard recognition, incident prevention and learning.
• Adapt training content to reflect site-specific hazards, project conditions, workforce experience levels, and operational needs.
• Utilize simulator technology to provide scenario-based training on equipment awareness, hazard recognition, and safe decision-making.
• Support operator competency assessments by providing technical EHS expertise, coaching, and training as required.
• Educate employees on safe work practices involving energy isolation, electrical hazards, and safe task planning.
• Reinforce OSHA requirements and company safety standards in construction and field environments.
• Maintain attendance records, training completion documentation, learner feedback, and related records.
• Review training outcomes and incident trends to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Recommend and implement improvements to training programs and simulator scenarios.

EHS Technical Trainer – Mobile Training Centre

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced EHS Technical Trainer to deliver hands-on, field-based safety and technical training across project sites throughout the United States.

This position will play a key role in strengthening workforce competency, critical risk awareness, and operational readiness through instructor-led, practical, blended, and simulator-supported training. The EHS Technical Trainer will work directly with frontline employees, supervisors, EHS professionals, and project teams to ensure safety concepts and critical controls are understood and effectively applied in real-world construction and field environments.

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of construction safety knowledge, field experience, technical training expertise, and adult-learning capabilities. This is a highly mobile position requiring extensive travel to project locations throughout the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led, practical, blended, and simulator-supported EHS and technical training at project sites across the United States.
• Facilitate training covering Critical Risk Management, Critical Control Verifications, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, fall protection, confined space, PPE, hazard recognition, incident prevention and learning, supervisor development, and employee orientation.
• Adapt training content, scenarios, exercises, and discussions to reflect site-specific hazards, project conditions, workforce experience levels, and operational requirements.
• Utilize simulator technology to provide scenario-based training focused on equipment awareness, hazard recognition, critical decision-making, and practical application in field environments.
• Support operator competency assessments by providing technical EHS expertise, coaching, and training when required.
• Educate employees on safe work practices involving energy isolation, electrical hazards, worker/equipment interaction, safe method of approach, critical controls, and safe task planning.
• Reinforce the practical application of OSHA requirements and company safety standards in construction and field environments.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, training completion documentation, learner feedback, facilitator notes, and other training records.
• Review training outcomes, assessment results, field observations, and incident trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Recommend and implement improvements to training programs, simulator scenarios, lesson plans, job aids, practical exercises, and field resources.
• Support the setup, readiness, organization, and teardown of the Mobile Training Centre, including classroom equipment, training materials, technology, and simulator resources.
• Partner closely with EHS advisors, project leadership, supervisors, frontline employees, clients, trade partners, and vendors.
• Promote a strong safety culture and encourage employees to recognize hazards, apply critical controls, and make sound safety decisions in the field.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience delivering EHS, construction safety, technical, craft, field, or competency-based training within civil construction, utilities, industrial, energy, infrastructure, or similar environments.
• Strong working knowledge of construction safety practices, OSHA requirements, critical risk controls, hazard recognition, energy isolation, and electrical safety concepts.
• Demonstrated experience delivering training to frontline employees, supervisors, and mixed-experience audiences.
• Strong understanding of adult-learning principles with the ability to communicate complex safety concepts in a practical and engaging manner.
• Experience developing, modifying, or delivering lesson plans, facilitator guides, toolbox talks, practical exercises, and competency-based training programs.
• Working knowledge of mobile equipment hazards, operator/worker interaction, safe methods of approach, equipment functions, and field safety controls.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical and safety information in both classroom and field environments.
• Comfortable using simulator technology, presentation equipment, Microsoft Office, tablets, learning management systems, and electronic training records.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States.
• Ability to work variable schedules based on project and training requirements.
• Strong organizational, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous hands-on field EHS or construction safety experience.
• Strong background in electrical safety and electrical hazard awareness.
• Experience with NFPA 70E and electrical safe-work practices.
• Experience conducting practical or simulator-based technical training.
• Experience supporting operator competency or equipment-related safety assessments.
• Experience working on large-scale civil, utility, energy, industrial, or infrastructure construction projects.

A Class A CDL, or the willingness and ability to obtain one, is considered an additional asset and may provide greater flexibility in supporting Mobile Training Centre operations.

This is a high-travel, field-based position supporting project locations throughout the United States. A company vehicle will be provided.

The role requires regular interaction with construction and field personnel and may involve working around active project sites, mobile equipment, electrical hazards, and other industrial or construction environments.

Candidates should be comfortable working variable schedules and traveling for extended periods based on project and training needs.
