Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking an EHS Support Specialist to join our Post Falls, Idaho team. You will provide foundational support for Environmental Health & Safety programs, assist with administration, and help maintain a strong safety culture.

Under guidance, you’ll expand expertise in risk assessment, incident management, waste management, and industrial hygiene while collaborating with internal teams and customers to promote safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Two years’ relevant experience
• Able to efficiently operate Windows and MS Office
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
• Background check results satisfactory to SEL
• Negative drug test result(s)

Responsibilities

• Complete EH&S processes in accordance with defined procedures under the direction of more experienced staff.
• Provide status updates to SEL staff and customers. Communicates effectively with team and internal partners and customers.
• Learn and follow department processes while communicating opportunities for improvement to documentation or work instructions.
• Provide awareness of EH&S standards.
• Represent team by participating in collaborative problem solving and process improvement efforts.
• Develop basic proficiency in the activities required to support one EH&S discipline (e.g., risk assessment and incident management, waste management, industrial hygiene).
• Learn and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

• Other duties as assigned.
