Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in Nampa, Idaho seeks an EHS Support Specialist to assist with Environmental Health & Safety programs, documentation, and process execution under guidance of experienced staff. You will help deliver incident management, risk assessment, waste management, and industrial hygiene tasks while developing EHS expertise.

The role emphasizes teamwork, strong written and verbal communication, and diligent documentation.

Qualifications

• Two years’ relevant experience.
• Ability to efficiently operate Windows and MS Office.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
• Negative drug test result(s).

Responsibilities

• Complete EH&S processes under supervision of experienced staff.
• Provide status updates to SEL staff and customers; communicate with team and partners.
• Learn and follow department processes; propose improvements to docs or work instructions.
• Provide awareness of EH&S standards.
• Participate in collaborative problem solving and process improvement.
• Develop basic proficiency in risk assessment, incident management, waste management, or industrial hygiene.
• Learn and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
• Understand. Create. Simplify.
• Other duties as assigned.
