Job summary

Stryten Energy in Attica, IN is seeking a Safety and Environmental Supervisor to coordinate local safety and environmental programs in a lean environment. You will lead training, monitor regulatory compliance, and supervise about 9 hourly staff while developing hazard controls and environmental reports for management review.

Responsibilities include chairing the Employee Safety Committee, investigating injuries, and coordinating with the medical and HR teams.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Safety & Environmental, Safety Engineering Industrial Hygiene or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in safety and environmental roles.
• Knowledge of state and government regulations affecting safety and environment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
• Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Project management skills.
• Wastewater license required.

Responsibilities

• Chair the Employee Safety Committee.
• Investigate injuries with HR and Medical Department; notify supervisor.
• Evaluate hazardous conditions and develop control practices.
• Stay informed on federal/state safety laws affecting the company.
• Coordinate safety and industrial hygiene services with medical.
• Draft lab reports; interpret results for health implications.
• Study work operations and workforce profiles.
• Provide supervisor and employee safety training; assist with contractor audits.
• Ensure application of safety and environmental policies and practices.
• Assist with job safety assessments (JSAs).
• Support housekeeping inspections and corrective actions.
• Interface with regulatory agencies as needed; ISO compliance tracking.
• Maintain safety/environmental files and MSDS inventory.
• Be part of the emergency response team.
