Job summary

UTMB Health seeks a senior Environmental Health and Safety leader to direct hazardous materials and environmental compliance programs across campuses. You will oversee audits, regulatory reporting, and emergency response with a team of four direct reports, guiding policy development and continuous improvement in risk management.

The role requires a strong background in RCRA, DOT HazMat, SPCC, and environmental regulations, with a focus on creating a learning environment and achieving regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, natural, or applied science, or a related field.
• 7 years of related experience.
• HAZWOPER certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide directional leadership for hazardous materials and environmental compliance programs.
• Oversee regulatory reporting, audits, and emergency response for hazardous materials.
• Supervise and develop direct reports in EHS.
• Coordinate agency audits and ensure compliance with EPA/DOJ/DOE regulations.
• Develop and implement process improvements in risk management and compliance.
