Patriot Disposal / Apple Valley Waste is seeking a Director of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) to lead a comprehensive safety program across multiple divisions. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and overseeing loss prevention initiatives, regulatory compliance, and a culture of safety, with extensive travel across the company footprint.

Qualifications

Strong written communication and report-writing abilities with minimal supervision.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Deep understanding of FMCSA and DOT regulations, including Hours of Service, vehicle inspections, and driver file management.
Experience facilitating return-to-work programs and injury reporting processes.
Ability to lead and influence change without direct authority.

Responsibilities

Serve as a safety subject matter expert to divisional leadership on programs and compliance.
Design and deliver training promoting a proactive safety culture.
Monitor safety initiatives like Smith Systems, Lytx, and 3rd Eye; identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, FMCSA, DOT across divisions for collections operations.
Lead investigations of injuries, incidents, and near-misses; coach on quality investigations.
