Job summary

Sierra Space Corporation seeks an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist III to implement and monitor our environmental safety programs in Colorado. You will oversee equipment, inspections, and hazardous waste management, while coordinating with regulators and driving training initiatives.

The role requires 5+ years in EHS, ISO experience, and proficiency with EHS tools. Advanced degrees or CSP/CIH certifications are a plus, with a strong emphasis on incident investigation and corrective

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or Masters +3 yrs experience).
• Typically 5+ years of related experience in environmental health and safety.
• Knowledge of EHS management systems such as ISO45001, ISO14001, or similar.
• Expertise in EHS-related topics such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit-Required Confined Spaces (PRCS), fall protection/prevention, Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC), air permitting, etc.
• Prior experience with RCRA, CERCLA, EPA, hazardous wastes, air emissions, etc. is required.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the company's environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain safety equipment inventory and perform periodic safety inspections.
• Monitor hazardous waste removal vendors and assist in consolidating hazardous wastes.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs and conduct risk assessments with mitigation actions.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, documenting corrective actions and reports.
