Job summary

Sofidel America in Phoenix, AZ seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to support the EHS Manager in developing, implementing, and monitoring safety and environmental programs across the facility.

The role involves coordinating compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, delivering training, performing risk assessments, conducting audits, and driving corrective actions to maintain a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or degree in a Science-related field with a minimum 1 year of work experience dedicated to health and safety and/or environmental field in an industrial setting.
• Possess computer skills - specifically Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist the EHS Manager to maintain accurate EHS programs and metrics for facility management and corporate reporting systems.
• Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations, local regulations, and corporate guidelines.
• Coach management and employees to ensure compliance with external/internal audits and EHS regulations.
• Provide formal and informal training to employees, supervisors, and managers on safety policies and practices.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend modifications to ensure a safe work environment.
• Assist with preparation of environmental compliance reports and permits, and participate in audits.
