Job summary

PPG is seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to manage a comprehensive Environmental, Health and Safety program at the Delaware facility. You will report to the EHS Manager and guide best practices to maintain a safe workplace, while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations to minimize liabilities.

Interaction with manufacturing, technical and engineering teams is key to delivering a unified EHS message.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering or a related science.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; Chemical or Automotive manufacturing is advantageous.
• Experience supporting EHS programs in construction settings is desirable.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, Workers' Comp).
• Ability to build safety culture through influence and engagement.
• Strong collaboration with colleagues and leaders at all levels.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local and PPG policies.
• Provide leadership for EHS training.
• Evaluate EHS impacts of capital projects and ensure risk assessments are completed.
• Manage safety programs including Job Safety Analysis and risk assessments.
• Support site management with incident investigations and corrective actions.
