Job summary

J.M. Huber Corporation is seeking an EHS Specialist to provide operational Environmental, Health & Safety support for Marble Hill’s underground mine and surface operations.

The role partners with site leadership to maintain compliance with MSHA, environmental, and other regulatory requirements. You will develop and improve EHS programs, train staff, conduct inspections and risk assessments, and support Corporate EHS initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related technical field required. An Associate’s degree with relevant mining, manufacturing, or EHS experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum 2 years of EHS experience required.
• Mining experience with MSHA/30 CFR regulations, including underground metal/nonmetal requirements and MSHA Part 48 training.
• Knowledge of occupational health hazards in mining and mineral processing, including silica/dust, diesel particulate matter, noise, chemical, and ergonomic exposures.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational Environmental, Health & Safety support for Marble Hill’s underground mine and surface operations.
• Assist with development and continuous improvement of EHS programs, procedures, training, inspections, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
• Serve as a visible EHS resource by engaging with employees, supervisors, contractors, and leadership to identify hazards, promote safe work practices, and reduce risk.
• Support MSHA Part 48 training, including new miner, experienced miner, annual refresher, task training, hazard awareness, and site-specific training. Maintain accurate training records.
• Participate in investigations of incidents, injuries, near hits, property damage, and environmental events; assist with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Support environmental compliance programs, including water, stormwater, waste, spill prevention, air permitting, groundwater, and required sampling, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting.
