Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a self-motivated Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist to join the Safety Team at our Fort Smith, AR Dixie facility. The EH&S Specialist's focus is estimated to consist of 80% Safety and 20% Environmental responsibilities. You will lead hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident investigations, and help implement core EHS programs across operations. Qualifications

• Manufacturing/industrial safety experience required.
• Experience building regulatory compliance programs and delivering training.
• Experience implementing Safety Management Systems.
• Background in managing occupational safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead hazard identification and risk assessment efforts in partnership with operations.
• Develop and implement core EHS programs (Lockout Tag Verify, Confined Space, Emergency Preparedness, Fall Protection, Incident Investigation, PPE).
• Conduct and lead incident investigations to improve learning and prevent recurrence.
• Provide regulatory training and increase awareness of safety and health issues across the facility.
• Support mill CSOs with knowledge and skills to maintain compliance.
• Act as a visible EHS resource in field operations, maintenance, and contract work groups.
