Job summary

Magna International in Mesa, AZ is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to strengthen safety programs and ensure regulatory compliance across operations. You will conduct audits, lead investigations, and drive environmental initiatives in a manufacturing setting.

The role focuses on incident investigations, risk assessments, training, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to foster a proactive safety culture and ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, incident investigations, risk assessments, safety audits, and environmental compliance programs.
• Experience with LOTO, machine guarding, powered industrial trucks, hazard communication, PPE, and emergency response programs.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001; OSHA 30, ASP, CSP, CHMM, or related certifications preferred.
• Strong communication, data analysis, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Support and strengthen safety programs via audits, risk assessments, inspections, and OSHA compliance.
• Lead incident investigations and corrective actions with root-cause analysis.
• Ensure environmental compliance through hazardous materials, waste, spills, and records management.
• Develop and deliver EHS training and employee engagement programs.
• Support regulatory compliance, audits, and documentation including OSHA records.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractors to mitigate risks.
