Job summary

Sigma Earth seeks an Environmental, Health & Safety professional to strengthen daily EHS operations across our Kentucky sites. You will help shape culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in safety and service quality.

You will support SIF prevention programs, lead investigations, and provide guidance on hazard identification, inspections, and reporting. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of EHS regulations and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with waste management industry practices or subscription-based operational models.
• Understanding of safety management systems and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and perform hazard analysis effectively.
• Experience managing injury and illness case management programs.
• Knowledge of incident investigation methods and root cause analysis techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to influence stakeholders in a complex, matrixed organizational environment.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills and ability to drive projects to completion within deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of daily operational requirements within the assigned area and proactively identify opportunities to enhance EHS culture, customer safety, service quality, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) regulations across assigned locations, business units, or divisions.
• Support implementation of EHS Management Systems, Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) prevention programs, and EHS Absolute standards through training, coaching, and awareness initiatives.
• Provide guidance to supervisors and employees on EHS programs, hazard identification, housekeeping standards, facility inspections, and reporting of incidents, risks, and unsafe conditions.
• Lead, coordinate, and participate in incident investigations, including documentation, analysis, and follow-up reporting for the division.
• Collaborate with operations and functional leaders to develop and execute a structured roadmap to achieve EHS objectives and continuous improvement goals.
• Support environmental compliance activities, including data collection, field inspections, recordkeeping, and reporting to meet air and water permitting requirements and regulatory obligations.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of EHS databases and ensure timely and compliant reporting by division personnel in line with industry standards.
• Schedule, attend, and/or facilitate required inspections and employee health testing, ensuring documentation is clear, complete, and actionable.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned or required.
