Job summary

New Eagle LLC in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to lead and continuously improve our EHS programs. You will work with engineering and facilities leadership to ensure regulatory compliance and a proactive safety culture across the site.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience, a bachelor’s in a safety-related field, strong communication skills, and hands-on ability to train staff, conduct risk assessments, and drive corrective actions to closure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in occupational health, safety, or environmental compliance in manufacturing/engineering.
• Working knowledge of OSHA (29 CFR 1910/1926) and Michigan MIOSHA requirements.
• Experience conducting job hazard analyses, safety audits, and incident investigations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with training delivery ability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS software such as EcoOnline.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the workplace EHS program in compliance with OSHA and regulations.
• Develop, update, and deliver safety policies, procedures, and employee training.
• Conduct safety inspections, job hazard analyses, and risk assessments; track corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records and regulatory reporting (OSHA 300 logs, incident documentation).
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis; verify corrective actions.
• Chair the safety committee and coordinate emergency preparedness, ergonomics, and workers' compensation reporting.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
