Job summary

Fort Wayne Metals is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist to join our EHS team. You will help create a culture focused on protecting the environment, health, safety, and product sustainability while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include supporting permits and reports, managing spills, and driving an injury-free culture. Expect training in RCRA, DOT, OSHA, and incident response, with travel to Fort Wayne facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Environmental Science, Business Management, Occupational Safety, or related field.
• RCRA and DOT Hazardous Material Certification as required.
• 30-hour OSHA certification, CPR Trainer certification and Incident Command training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years Environmental or Safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Stay informed on new environmental and safety laws to support compliance and improvements.
• Provide regulatory support for permits, reports, emission tracking, and related documents.
• Develop and maintain Spill Prevention Plans and lead spill drills.
• Drive injury prevention through a behavior-based safety program.
• Review incoming material and chemical approvals and manage SDS system.
• Lead internal EMS audits and drive corrective actions from audits.
