Job summary

Isuzu North America is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support environmental compliance, workplace safety, and regulatory programs within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, HR and leadership to reduce risk and strengthen a culture of safety.

You will administer programs across the facility, lead investigations, deliver training, manage permits and regulatory reports, and support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA and applicable regs.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, investigations, hazard assessments, corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Experience delivering employee safety training.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; EHS management systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support environmental, health, and safety programs across the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and applicable regs.
  • Conduct safety inspections, compliance audits, hazard assessments, and environmental evaluations.
  • Lead incident, injury, near-miss, and environmental investigations with root cause analysis.
  • Develop and deliver employee EHS training, including new hire safety orientation.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support equipment implementation, process improvements, and risk reduction.
  • Maintain permits, compliance documentation, training records, SDS files, and regulatory reports.
  • Support emergency preparedness planning, inspections, and third-party audits.
  • Assist with lithium-ion battery safety programs, emergency response planning, and battery storage compliance.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and 5S for safety.

This position partners closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, human resources, and leadership to reduce risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen a culture of safety.

What You’ll Do

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, automotive, industrial, warehouse, or distribution environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and applicable environmental and safety regulations.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, hazard assessments, and corrective action management.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Experience developing and delivering employee safety training.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with EHS management systems is a plus.
