Job summary

Evergreen Innovation Group, part of the DPR Family of Companies, seeks an EHS Specialist with plant-level manufacturing experience. The role supports operations in Surprise, AZ, implementing and maintaining the safety program and promoting a safety culture.

You will deliver training, conduct inspections, and assist with incident investigations while tracking site metrics to drive continuous improvement. A safety-focused, compliant mindset is essential.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety.
  • 2–4 years of safety experience in manufacturing or similar industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of OSHA general industry regulations.
  • OSHA 30‑Hour General Industry preferred; CSP/ASP is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing safety policies for general industry manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and NFPA standards.
  • Identify hazards via inspections and JHAs; recommend corrective actions.
  • Deliver safety training on PPE, emergency response, and equipment operation.
  • Participate in incident investigations and reporting; track actions.
  • Track safety metrics and prepare management reports; support continuous improvement.

Overview

Evergreen Innovation Group, part of the DPR Family of Companies, seeks a skilled EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Specialist with in‑depth plant‑level experience in prefabrication manufacturing. The role supports operations in Surprise, AZ, and focuses on implementing and maintaining the safety program while promoting a culture of safety.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring safety policies, procedures, and programs tailored to general industry manufacturing operations (e.g., onboarding, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, hazard communication).
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations, NPFA, and company‑specific safety protocols through regular inspections.
  • Identify workplace hazards through inspections, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and employee feedback; recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Deliver safety training sessions for employees, covering PPE, emergency response, and safe equipment operation.
  • Participate in investigations of workplace incidents, compile incident reports, and recommend preventive actions.
  • Track site‑specific safety metrics (e.g., incident rates, training completion) and prepare reports for management to support continuous improvement.
  • Assist in maintaining emergency response plans, conducting drills, and ensuring the availability of safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, first aid kits).
  • Collaborate with production supervisors, maintenance teams, and employees to integrate safety practices into daily operations.
  • Support resolution of complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices.
  • Perform regular facility walkthroughs, including prolonged standing, walking, site movement, and occasional ladder or scaffold climbs to access elevated areas.
  • Inspect confined spaces and hard‑to‑reach areas as needed; remain stationary during meetings, training, or documentation.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies, including evacuations and incident support.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent communication and training skills, with proven ability to engage employees across all organizational levels and facilitate large group sessions.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Safety‑conscious and compliance‑driven mindset.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
Education and Experience
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–4 years of experience in a safety role in manufacturing or a similar industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of OSHA general industry regulations and industry standards.
  • OSHA 30‑Hour General Industry certification preferred; additional credentials such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) are a plus.
