Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking an EHS Specialist for a full-time contract in Abilene, TX. You will plan and implement safety policies in line with OSHA regulations, develop training programs, inspect facilities for hazards, and maintain safety documentation.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in construction, a degree in EHS or BCSP certification, and strong communication skills; familiarity with JHAs, SDSs, and IIPP is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in the construction industry in a similar role.
• Bachelor's Degree in an EHS discipline or BCSP certification.
• Experience developing safety programs and supporting large-scale construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations and IIPP.
• Develop and deliver safety and orientation training programs.
• Inspect facilities to identify hazards and verify corrective actions.
• Maintain safety documentation including audits, inspections, PTPs, JHAs, and SDSs.
• Participate in accident investigations and support materials for hearings and insurance cases.
• Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills with MS Word and Excel.

Job description

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for an EHS Specialist

Position type: Full-time Contract
Duration: 6 months
Location: Abilene, TX

As an EHS Specialist, you will be:

• Planning and implementing safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA regulations and Client’s Safety Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
• Developing, implementing, and delivering safety and orientation training programs.
• Inspecting facilities to identify existing or potential hazards, recommends corrective measures, and verifies implementation.
• Maintaining safety documentation including audits, inspections, Pre-Task Plans (PTP), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and Safety Data Sheets (SDSs).
• Participating in accident and injury investigations and supports preparation of materials for hearings, lawsuits, and insurance cases.
• Excellent communication, organization, prioritization skills, and proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in the construction industry in a similar role.
• Bachelor's Degree in an EHS discipline and/ or BCSP certification such as ASP, CHST, or OHST, CSP, SMT, SMS, CET, and/or GSP
• Experience developing and implementing safety programs, conducting hazard mitigation activities, and supporting large-scale construction projects

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with large, structured cabling projects and/or data center construction projects
• Data Center Experience
• OSHA Outreach Trainer Certification for OSHA 10/30 Hour

This position is only open to applicants who can be engaged on a W-2 basis. 1099 contractors and Corp-to-Corp arrangements will not be considered for this position.

Pay Range and Benefits:

Pay Range*: $35 - $44 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
