Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking an E.H.S. Technician to support environmental, health and safety programs at the facility. You will conduct inspections, assist with employee training, document safety activities, investigate incidents, and help ensure OSHA, environmental, and company requirements are met.

The role involves working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather, with SA Recycling’s emphasis on safety culture and compliance throughout the operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in safety, environmental compliance, manufacturing, recycling, or related field preferred.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training preferred; additional EHS certifications are a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety inspections of the yard, equipment, work areas, vessels, and facilities; identify hazards and follow up on corrective actions.
• Assist with implementation and enforcement of company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Monitor employee work practices and provide coaching when unsafe conditions or behaviors are observed.
• Assist with accident, injury, near-miss, and property-damage investigations; document findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate E.H.S. records, inspection reports, training records, incident documentation, and other required paperwork.
• Assist with required safety meetings, toolbox talks, orientations, and employee training.
• Support OSHA compliance activities, including inspections, recordkeeping, hazard communication, PPE, emergency preparedness, and other applicable requirements.
• Assist with environmental compliance activities, inspections, waste management, spill prevention, and proper handling of regulated materials.
• Inspect and monitor personal protective equipment (PPE), safety equipment, emergency equipment, and signage.
• Assist supervisors and management with safety concerns, corrective actions, and employee questions.
• Participate in emergency response activities, drills, and investigations as assigned.
• Communicate safety and environmental concerns promptly to management and recommend practical solutions.
• Perform other E.H.S.-related duties as assigned.
