Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist at Aberdeen, MD to lead safety programs and drive a culture of proactive safety. You will investigate incidents, assess risks, and train associates to prevent injuries while supporting operational efficiency.

You will collaborate with leadership and frontline staff to embed safety as a core value and respond to emergencies, with flexibility for shifts including days, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 year in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field OR a Bachelor’s degree in an EHS-related background OR 6 months experience in a safety-related role within Amazon.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity.
• Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Drive comprehensive safety programs through data-driven strategies and audits.
• Lead incident investigations and risk assessments.
• Deliver engaging safety training and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Serve as a trusted safety advisor and advocate for associate wellbeing.
• Develop relationships with frontline staff and leadership to drive behavioral changes and safety best practices.
• Assist emergency response and maintain safe operations at sites.
