Job summary

BYD North America is seeking a Safety Manager to lead the development and maintenance of our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across BESS manufacturing and field operations. You will ensure OSHA compliance, conduct inspections and investigations, and drive safety training and culture.

You will partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, HR, and Project Management to resolve safety concerns, manage PPE, and coordinate safety activities across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field and 5+ years of progressive EHS experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and safety audits.
• Ability to develop training programs and lead safety orientations.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and programs.
• Ensure OSHA compliance across manufacturing, warehousing, and field ops.
• Conduct JHAs, risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
• Lead safety training, toolbox talks, and refresher sessions.
• Manage PPE program and oversee contractor safety requirements.
• Track safety metrics and report to management.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, HR, and PM.
