Job summary

American Battery Solutions is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to drive a culture of safety and compliance across ABS facilities in Ohio and Michigan. The role leads EHS systems, audits, and regulatory adherence while coordinating with site leadership to reduce risk and protect personnel.

Responsibilities include developing ISO14001 programs, investigating incidents, managing KPIs, and guiding safety training and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in industrial manufacturing.
• Minimum of three years' leadership experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA and other applicable standards.
• Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA 70E, LOTO, Electrical Safety Practices and Hazcom.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain EHS systems and ISO14001 across ABS locations.
• Lead investigations for near misses and accidents; implement corrective actions.
• Define issues, analyze problems, and provide recommendations per laws, regulations, rules, and policies.
• Lead and manage EHS KPIs and contribute to capital budgeting for EHS initiatives.
• Provide guidance to leadership teams and safety committees.
• Ensure compliance with environmental requirements across the organization.
