Job summary

Anoplate is seeking a Safety Specialist to lead daily health and safety operations across all production facilities, ensuring compliance with OSHA and environmental health standards while promoting safe work practices and a strong safety culture.

You will inspect for hazards, maintain safety programs, coordinate training, serve as Emergency Coordinator, and partner with HR on workers’ compensation; this role requires a hands-on leader who walks the floor and drives measurable safety improvements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Training required.
• 4-year college degree in a technical field preferred (industrial safety/environmental).
• HAZWOPER 24- or 40-Hour Certification preferred.
• Lock Out Tag Out experience required.
• Basic computer skills: Limble CMMS, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily health and safety operations for all staff and eliminate safety obstacles to ensure high-quality production.
• Inspect facilities daily for hazards and document inspections, audits, and observations; oversee corrective actions.
• Serve as advocate for EHS strategy and culture; support strategy to reduce incidents and improve safety metrics.
• Lead First Responder Team and be Emergency Coordinator using First Aid/CPR/AED.
• Investigate near-miss incidents and coordinate corrective actions with HR regarding workers’ compensation.
• Track incidents and publish monthly safety metrics; complete OSHA 300 log annually.
• Develop and enforce Health and Safety Programs; maintain training materials and certifications.
• Coordinate safety training for new hires with Training Department.
