Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental health, safety science, or related field.
  • Experience leading safety initiatives in manufacturing/industrial settings.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and environmental compliance.
  • Experience handling injury matters and case administration.
  • Ability to conduct investigations, inspections, risk assessments, and training.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily environmental, health, and safety efforts across the facility, staying closely engaged with operations to identify risks and implement timely corrective measures.
  • Assess workplace risks involving machinery, electrical hazards, material handling, ergonomics, chemicals, PPE, and other industrial exposures.
  • Manage environmental and workplace compliance activities, including documentation, permits, inspections, reporting, and regulatory readiness.
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations, determine contributing factors, and drive corrective actions through completion.
  • Oversee workers' compensation activities from initial reporting through case coordination with employees, leadership, medical providers, brokers, and insurers.

Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with occasional evenings for scheduled emergency preparedness activities.

Our client is seeking an EHS Manager to take a highly visible, hands-on role in advancing safety, environmental compliance, and injury prevention across a fast-paced industrial operation. This is an opportunity to step into an established program, bring greater consistency and follow through to critical safety initiatives, and make a measurable impact on how employees work every day. The ideal candidate brings practical EHS expertise, strong personal accountability, and the energy to engage employees and leaders directly on the plant floor.

This Role Offers:

Focus:
  • Lead daily environmental, health, and safety efforts across the facility, staying closely engaged 6+
  • with operations to identify potential risks and implement timely corrective measures.
  • Assess workplace risks involving machinery, electrical hazards, material handling, ergonomics, chemicals, personal protective equipment, and other industrial exposures.
  • Manage environmental and workplace compliance activities, including required documentation, permits, inspections, reporting, and readiness for regulatory inquiries.
  • Lead incident and near miss investigations, determine contributing factors, and drive corrective measures through completion to help prevent recurrence.
  • Oversee workers compensation activities from initial reporting through case coordination, partnering with employees, leadership, medical providers, brokers, and insurance resources.
  • Maintain OSHA injury and illness records and other required safety documentation while tracking trends that can guide prevention efforts.
  • Coordinate employee safety education and emergency preparedness, including orientation, lockout and tagout instruction, recurring training, and drills across applicable shifts.
  • Partner with leaders and employees to strengthen accountability, improve existing safety processes, and create practical solutions that support both people and operations.
Skill Set:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental health, safety science, or a related discipline.
  • EHS experience within manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, or another industrial setting, with demonstrated ability to independently lead safety initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, environmental compliance practices, workplace hazard controls, and injury and illness recordkeeping.
  • Background overseeing workplace injury matters, handling related case administration, and facilitating employees’ transition back to their regular duties.
  • Ability to conduct incident investigations, workplace inspections, risk assessments, employee training, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a track record of following important safety commitments through completion.
  • Confident communicator who can influence employees and leaders at multiple levels without relying on direct reporting authority.
  • Proactive and energetic approach, sound judgment, and willingness to spend significant time in operational areas identifying opportunities for improvement.
