Job summary

A. O. Smith Corporation is seeking an experienced Environmental Health, Safety, and Security leader to manage budget and programs across facilities.

The role focuses on developing and executing safety initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mentoring EHSS staff to uphold high standards. The position requires 5+ years of EHSS experience, leadership capability, and strong communication. Candidates should be proficient with ISO 14001/45001 and US regulatory requirements, based at our

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related EHS field
• 5+ years of related experience in EHSS
• Previous leadership experience or demonstrated leadership through projects
• Certified Safety Professional license preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team
• Experience leading跨 site EHSS projects or multiple plants and mentoring junior staff
• Proficiency with regulatory standards (US EPA, OSHA, DOT) and ISO management systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Manage Environmental Health Safety and Security budget.
• Represent facility on Global EHSS Council and manage EHSS through ISO-based systems.
• Develop and implement safety plans, JHAs, incident investigations and workplace observations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor safety initiatives.
• Identify, develop and conduct EHSS trainings.
• Manage workers’ compensation claim process.

Responsibilities

• Manages Environmental Health Safety and Security budget.
• Represent facility on Global EHSS CouncilManage EHSS through ISO-based management platform and reporting tools.
• Perform routine tasks such as project safety plans, job hazard analyses, incident investigations, workplace observations and ensuring safety equipment is maintained.
• Develop, implement, and monitor safety initiatives.
• Identify, develop and conduct required EHSS trainings
• Manage worker's compensation claim process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Occupational Health & Safety/ EHS related field.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Previous leadership experience or leadership capability through projects.
• Certified Saftey Professional License preferred.
• Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Leads EHSS projects that are larger in scope or across multiple plants.
• Consistently mentors less experienced EHSS professionals.
• Excellent general problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge and current understanding of all applicable regulations including federal, state and local laws and standards. (US EPA, SSHA, DOT, OSHA, etc.)
• Ability to interpret regulations to ensure compliance. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Excellent written & verbal communication.
• Manage EHS activities for plant/multiple locations.
• Manage /supervise a small group of employees or indirectly manage employees across multiple sites.
