Job summary

A. O. Smith Corporation seeks an experienced EHSS professional to design and oversee comprehensive environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs at a manufacturing facility in Tennessee.

You will manage audits, investigations and regulatory compliance, lead safety initiatives, and mentor team members while coordinating with multiple stakeholders to maintain a safe, compliant operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• 3-5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing.
• 1-2 years of leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state and local regulations (US EPA, SSHA, DOT, OSHA).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement and oversee EHSS programs and systems.
• Manage EHSS activities including audits, investigations, reports, waste management and stakeholder relations.
• Direct management of workers' compensation claims.
• Maintain EHSS metrics, records and communications.
• Manage EHSS vendors, expenses and budget.
• Represent facility on EHSS Council.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Manage EHSS activities including EHSS performance, safety audits, investigations, preparing reports and recommendations, waste management programs, and managing relationships with community or environmental stakeholders.
• Direct management of worker's compensation claims.
• Maintain EHSS metrics, record keeping, and communications.
• Manage EHSS vendors, expenses and budget
• Represent facility on EHSS Council
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Occupational Health & Safety/ EHS related field
• 3-5 years related EHS experience in a manufacturing facilty.
• 1 -2 years leadership experience preferred
• Excellent general problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge and current understanding of all applicable regulations including federal, state and local laws and standards. (US EPA, SSHA, DOT, OSHA, etc.)
• Ability to interpret regulations to ensure compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Excellent written & verbal communication.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Manage all EHS activities
• Manage projects and provide guidance and mentoring to other team members as needed.
