Job summary

Henry Schein, Inc. is seeking an experienced EHS professional to develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies for U.S. warehousing and manufacturing operations.

The role conducts on-site inspections, supports incident investigations and regulatory coordination, and ensures OSHA, DOT, and IATA/IMO compliance. Travel around 15–20% is expected; Cal/OSHA experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of EHS experience in warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, medical device, pharmaceutical, or related industries.
  • Experience with Cal/OSHA regulations and compliance programs.
  • Experience with SDS programs, OSHA compliance activities, and hazardous materials regulations.
  • Experience with DOT hazardous materials shipping preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Preferred certifications: ASP, OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, and/or DOT HazMat Transportation Training.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct routine onsite inspections of manufacturing and distribution warehouse operations to identify hazards and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analyses; recommend corrective actions and verify effectiveness.
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory agencies on incident investigations, inquiries, findings and/or complaint allegations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA standards, including HazCom, PPE, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention, Forklift/Powered Industrial Truck Safety, Lockout/Tagout, Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Maintain OSHA injury and illness records, including OSHA 300 logs.
  • Support maintenance of SDS Management Program and ensure employee access to SDS information.
  • Support compliance with DOT regulations governing shipment of hazardous materials and hazardous materials shipping documentation.
  • Research and analyze applicable laws (OSHA, Cal/OSHA, DOT, IATA, IMO, EPA) and develop, implement, and monitor policies to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Deliver EHS awareness and training programs; travel 15-20% annually.
  • Serve as an EHS resource for guidance and best practices.
