Job summary

The Recruiting Pros is seeking an EHS / Regulatory Compliance Leader for a Charlotte, NC manufacturing operation. You will develop and direct environmental, health, safety, and ISO quality programs to ensure regulatory compliance and employee engagement.

This hands-on role collaborates with executive and plant leadership to drive continuous improvement, audits, training, and KPI tracking across the site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental health, or related field is required or strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years in environmental, safety, and quality within ISO manufacturing environment.
  • ISO certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary resource to update, develop, plan and implement strategies for environmental, safety and compliance standards.
  • Liaise with ISO and quality management systems; contact regarding regulatory agencies and audits.
  • Identify and measure quality control systems to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Train managers and staff on safety, quality, and ISO procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement; manage KPIs and document results.
  • Stay current with regulatory and environmental standards through reading and conferences.

Title: EHS / Regulatory ComplianceLeader

Our team at The Recruiting Pros is conducting a search for a EHS / Regulatory Compliance Leader on behalf of an innovative manufacturer on south side of Charlotte,NC. This company celebrated 50 years of success in serving some of the world’s most recognized companies. In this newly created position, you will be a core team member responsible for developing, planning, and directing environmental, health, and safety activities to ensure employee engagement and regulatory compliance for this ISO certified manufacturing operation, including coordinating and identifying regulatory and compliance remediation actions. This is a hands-on role in which you will work cross-functionally with a team of executive managers, plant leaders and production workers that value teamwork and collaboration.

Routine responsibilities will require you to:

  • Act as primary company resource to assist leadership with updating, developing, planning and implementing strategies related to environmental, safety and compliance standards including audits, communications, labeling and life cycle analysis, as well as other related environmental challenges and testing.
  • Acts as a primary liaison for ISO and other quality management systems and first point of contact regarding regulatory compliance agencies and audits.
  • Identify, implement and measure the results of quality control systems to optimize detection or failures in the manufacturing process.
  • Assist in training managers, supervisors and other personnel on company, safety, quality, and ISO procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to ensure high quality products and processes.
  • Manage KPI’s and document results, follow through with systems and programs.
  • Regularly read journals, publications and online resources and attend conferences to stay current with the ever-changing regulatory compliance and environmental standards.

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health or in related field strongly preferred
  • 5+ years working knowledge and experience in similar position(s) focused on environmental, safety and quality within an ISO certified manufacturing environment is required
  • ISO Certified, strongly preferred
  • In-depth understanding of state and federal health/safety regulations
  • Excellent organizational skills including project management and the ability to prioritize simultaneous projects and initiatives.
  • Skilled communicator, both verbal and written; ability to collaborate and gain trust cross-functionally and cross-cultural.
  • Maintain a CAN-DO attitude, being self-reliant and resourceful.
  • Possess analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in the relevant management software programs.
