Job summary

Weil Group, Inc. is seeking a Construction EHS Officer to provide health and safety expertise for construction projects and to serve as a senior technical specialist in EHS.

The role operates independently within assigned programs and responsibilities, emphasizing construction EHS program implementation and contractor oversight. The position includes managing new-hire processes, organizing sessions, coordinating PPE, and leading daily field inspections covering critical safety areas such as

Qualifications

• Associate degree required with 5 years of EHS program experience in pharmaceutical or commercial construction
• 30-hour OSHA Construction Industry training completed or in progress
• Experience evaluating contractor EHS program implementation and strong writing/communication skills

Responsibilities

• Administer contractor new-hire system and conduct sessions
• Assist Project Engineer with Simpac process requirements
• Arrange PPE inventory and security staffing work orders
• Organize EHS meetings for contractors and internal teams
• Support Contractor EHS Program implementation and field inspections
• Participate in weekly project execution meetings
• Assist contractors with JHA preparation and e-builder processes
• Ensure compliance with excavation, scaffolding, cranes, LOTO, hot work and confined space safety

Job description

Construction EHS Officer

Provide construction health and safety expertise to manage and implement Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs. Serve as a recognized technical specialist in construction EH&S and act independently within assigned responsibilities and programs.

EHS Coordinator Responsibilities

• Administer contractor new-hire system.
• Organize and conduct new-hire sessions.
• Assist the Project Engineer with the required Simpac process.
• Arrange work orders for security staffing at the contractor new-hire trailer.
• Arrange work orders for the PPE inventory.
• Organize contractor and internal EHS meetings.
• Assist Client with implementing the Contractor EHS Program.
• Conduct daily field inspections to verify Contractor EHS Program implementation, covering excavation, scaffolding, cranes, LOTO, hot work, elevated work, confined spaces, demolition, telehandler forklifts, mobile elevated platforms, pressure testing, and rigging.
• Take part in weekly project execution meetings.
• Assist contractors with JHA preparation and e-builder processes.

Education and Licences

Minimum requirements: An associate degree and 5 years of experience implementing EHS programs in pharmaceutical or commercial construction; 30-hour OSHA Construction Industry training; and experience evaluating contractor EHS program implementation.

Competencies and Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software systems is required.
• Good technical and business writing, communication, and teamwork skills are required. Bilingual proficiency is preferred.
