Job summary

J.B. Henderson Construction is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Representative to implement and administer the corporate safety program at the job-site.

You will oversee trend analysis, reporting, and ensure crews align with safety culture, promoting leading and lagging indicators to meet goals. The role requires coordinating site-specific safety requirements, equipment, training, and tracking of training.

Qualifications

• Three years field safety experience in construction
• Knowledge of CFR 1926 required
• OSHA 500 Certification preferred
• CHST or CSHO preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Some background in Industrial Hygiene desirable

Job description

The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Representative is responsible for the implementation and administration of the corporate safety program at the job-site/area, trend analysis and all reporting activities. Ensure the behavior of the crew is in accordance with company safety culture. Understands the lagging and leading safety indicators and promotes a philosophy that achieves established goals. Identification of job site/area specific safety requirements, safety equipment, material procurement, training requirements and tracking of training.

Education and Experience:

• Three years field safety experience in a construction evironment.
• Previous construction safety experience or commensurate knowledge in Code of Federal Regulations (CFR 1926) required
• Current OSHA 500 Certification (Train the Trainer course) strongly preferred
• Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Some background in Industrial Hygiene highly desirable

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to work a 60/60/50 work schedule
• Ability to recognize and correct safety-related hazards and targeted safety trends
• Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
• Ability to interpret and apply OSHA standards
• Proficient in MS Windows/Office programs
• Ability to work long hours and travel if needed
• Working knowledge of construction practicesAbility to work as a team member
