Job summary

Amazon Leo in Kirkland, WA is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead, develop, and measure EHS performance across the Leo portfolio. You will drive compliance programs, risk management, training, and audits while partnering with business units to embed safety into daily operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in EHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental health sciences, or related field.
• 5+ years as an industrial hygiene professional with aerospace R&D and/or complex manufacturing experience including chemical exposure, hearing conservation, laser safety, radiation safety, ergonomics, and hazard communication.
• 3+ years reviewing technical schematics and drawings as part of construction safety.
• 3+ years developing and implementing Electrical Safety, Lockout/Tagout, laser safety, radiation safety, and 5S programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations of working conditions to prevent occupational disease and health hazards.
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to assure program implementation and cohesiveness.
• Promote integration of safety and health risk management into operations, processes, and audits.
• Perform data analytics on EHS information to drive improvements.
• Promote EHS awareness through employee communications and programming.
• Prepare sampling plans, select methods, calibrate equipment, and interpret results.
• Provide technical assistance and act as the safety and environmental focal point.
• Manage environmental permits, waste disposal, and EHS reporting per permits and local rules.
• Conduct compliance tasks such as storm water sampling, waste inspections, chemical inventory, and life safety audits.
• Ensure full compliance with laws, regulations and customer requirements.
• Support and conduct EHS audits, develop action plans, and implement countermeasures.
• Provide leadership on Kuiper EHS issues and advise leaders on business impacts.
• Develop and implement EHS training programs engaging all Leo teams on responsibilities and compliance.
• Provide safety guidance for production processes, equipment, and design.
• Remain up-to-date with applicable laws and statutory requirements affecting EHS.
