Job summary

Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc. is seeking an EHS Manager in East Longmeadow, MA to lead health and safety programs, training, incident investigations and budget management. You will partner with leadership to ensure top safety for all employees across multiple facilities.

Ideal candidates have a BS in a relevant field, 5+ years of safety leadership, and certifications such as CSP/CHMM/CWCP preferred. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• BS in Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology, Human Resources or related degree.
• 5+ years Safety Management experience in a multi-facility environment.
• Certifications such as CSP, CHMM, CWCP preferred.
• Experience managing claims for a self-insured employer and aggressive case management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop health and safety programs to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Provide training for current and new employees on safety and compliance.
• Identify and evaluate conditions that could cause accidents and losses.
• Administer incident investigations with prompt corrective actions.
• Assist leadership in developing products, processes and procedures prioritizing safety.
• Develop safety metrics to identify trends and recommend actions.
• Communicate department activities to management.
• Coordinate safety policy implementation across the organization.
• Compile and interpret exposure data.
• Manage workers' compensation activities including OSHA logs and reports.
• Coordinate a mentor program for new hires.
• Develop department budget and manage expenses.
