Job summary

Daniel Defense is seeking a seasoned Environmental Health & Safety Manager to lead EHS programs in Black Creek, GA. You will develop and implement safety policies, lead training, and ensure OSHA compliance across the manufacturing environment.

You will partner with leadership to drive risk reduction, manage recordkeeping, incident investigations, and regulatory reporting while maintaining a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management or related field.
• 7+ years of safety management experience in manufacturing.
• OSHA 30-hour certification preferred; OSHA 501/511 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to and lead environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
• Partner with department leadership to develop competency models and career paths for functional areas in manufacturing.
• Maintain employee training records and generate reports.
• Develop, implement and update required EHS programs, procedures, and operator work instructions.
• Manage OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
• Investigate accidents/incidents; perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Plan, organize and facilitate safety training for new hires and temps.
• Identify safety concerns and communicate to Safety Director and managers.
• Oversee Hazardous Communication program including chemical inventory and SDS.
• Ensure vendors/contractors are qualified and compliant with OSHA requirements.
• Collaborate to reduce safety, health, property and environmental exposures.
• Develop and report on SWPPP, SPCC, EPCRA and related environmental plans.
• Manage workers’ compensation program focusing on prevention and return-to-work.
• Maintain confidentiality of records and data.
• Provide training to improve Safety, 6S, Quality and Productivity.
• Ensure compliance with DOT hazmat regulations (49 CFR).
• Contribute to company safety standards and positive work culture.
