Job summary

Actalent in Kokomo, IN is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and advance our site-wide safety and environmental programs. This role partners with site leadership to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance across the facility.

You will drive risk management, audits, training, and continuous improvement while mentoring a team and coordinating with external agencies.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in EHS roles supporting industrial or manufacturing operations.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management practices.
• Experience managing regulatory compliance programs including permits and reporting.
• Hands-on experience with safety management systems and site safety programs.
• Proven ability to develop and monitor EHS performance metrics and KPIs.
• Experience leading audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses with corrective actions.
• Ability to lead teams, coach, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all EHS initiatives across the facility to ensure safe and compliant operations.
• Develop and execute site-wide EHS strategies focused on regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and performance improvement.
• Establish team goals, KPIs, and monitor progress against them.
• Provide guidance and development for EHS team members to build a high-performing function.
• Partner with cross-functional leadership to integrate EHS into decision-making and risk management.
• Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
• Oversee environmental programs (air, water, hazardous waste, reporting) and ensure regulatory filings on local, state, and federal levels.
