Job summary

Omya Inc. in Kansas is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to lead and advance our safety program.

You will act as a technical advisor to management, drive compliant practices, and champion continuous improvement across operations. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in EHS, at least 5 years of experience, strong knowledge of local regulations, SAP EHS module and MS Office, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or related EHS field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental health or occupational safety.
  • Knowledge of local laws, standards, regulations related to EHS.
  • Strong computer skills with SAP (EHS module) and MS Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advise management and steering committees on best practices for EHS compliance and risk reduction.
  • Investigate accidents and identify root causes to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to identify environmental and safety hazards.
  • Plan, develop and deliver safety, occupational health, and related training.
  • Monitor compliance with laws and regulations and prepare management reports.
  • Collaborate with engineers or physicians to implement control measures for hazards.
  • Lead continuous improvement campaigns for safety and environmental protection.
