Job summary

Elessent Clean Technologies is seeking a hands-on EHS Manager to lead environmental, health and safety compliance for the MECS Catalyst Plant in California. This role serves as the site's EHS technical authority and requires strong knowledge of California regulations, sound judgment, visible field leadership, and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical direction.

Qualifications

• Significant California EHS regulatory experience in chemical or process manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of federal, California and local EHS requirements (BAAQMD, CUPA/CERS, CalARP, Cal/OSHA).
• Ability to interpret regulations, permits and agency requirements independently.
• Experience with permitting, reporting, inspections, audits and agency interactions.
• Identify hazards and compliance gaps and drive corrective actions.
• Knowledge of MOC, PHA/LOPA, PSSR and incident investigations.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for environmental, health and safety compliance.
• Own environmental permits, reporting, inspections and required notifications.
• Lead programs for air quality, hazardous materials, CalARP, wastewater and TRI/EPCRA.
• Oversee occupational safety, industrial hygiene and emergency preparedness.
• Manage EHS training program and records.
• Maintain field presence to identify hazards and drive corrective actions.
• Lead regulatory inspections and agency interactions and audits.
• Evaluate EHS needs with changes in processes, equipment, or chemicals.
