Job summary

Board of Certified Safety Professionals is seeking an EHS Manager in East Syracuse, NY to lead PSM, electrical safety, and energy control programs and to act as SME for process safety and operational risk management. This role collaborates with Operations, Engineering, Facilities, and Quality to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous safety improvements.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years in process safety/HSE leadership, with CSP/CIH/CCPSC preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology, Occupational Health, or a related discipline required.
• 5+ years of experience in Process Safety, HSE, Operational Risk Management, or HSE leadership in regulated manufacturing.
• Experience leading risk assessments, process safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance programs.
• Experience supporting enterprise-wide process safety and risk initiatives across complex manufacturing operations.
• Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, or CCPSC preferred.
• Knowledge of Arc Flash hazards, electrical safety, and NFPA 70E preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead SME for PSM, Electrical Safety, and Energy Control (LOTO) programs.
• Drive implementation and continuous improvement of site PSM programs per OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, NFPA, and company standards.
• Facilitate PHAs, HAZOPs, risk assessments, and hazard evaluations to mitigate risks.
• Manage MOC program ensuring risk evaluation before implementation.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, and Quality to integrate process safety into operations.
• Support design, installation, startup, qualification, and modification of equipment and utilities for safety compliance.
• Lead safety program aspects of ISO 45001 audits and other certifications.
