Job summary

Georgia-Pacific, Albion, MI, seeks an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to lead and oversee our Albion facility. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the EHS Manager partners with frontline leadership to mentor the production team on environmental, health, and safety matters, guided by Koch's Principle Based Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree OR significant experience in an EHS leadership role within a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience with OSHA regulations, compliance standards, and conducting training.
• Skilled in conducting incident investigations and performing root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide transformational leadership and direction to achieve the EHS vision through management commitment and employee ownership.
• Prepare and manage environmental permits and EHS reports, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Foster an environment where employees understand and exercise their decision rights regarding EHS.
• Develop and lead risk assessment methods and systems to identify, evaluate hazards and reduce risky behaviors.
• Ensure an effective change management process to adapt to evolving EHS standards and practices.
• Partner with facility leadership to develop EHS objectives, targets, and strategies; establish a safety committee.
• Develop, improve, and implement training systems to meet plant needs; conduct routine management reviews.
• Promote collaboration with employees, stakeholders, and regulatory entities in EHS.
