EHS MANAGER – MANUFACTURING

Location: Kissimmee, FL

Job Type: Contract – 6 Months with Potential for Hire

Pay Rate: $74.50/hour + Required Overtime Compensation: Client may offer a higher rate depending on experience and qualifications

Schedule: Standard hours are 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with required overtime

Work Environment: On-site; combination of plant-floor and office responsibilities

Travel: Travel between two nearby manufacturing facilities in the Kissimmee area

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and strengthen safety initiatives across two manufacturing facilities in the Kissimmee area. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on EHS professional who enjoys a challenge‑driven environment and wants to make a measurable impact. The organization is going through a significant transformation focused on improving its safety culture, developing stronger leadership practices, and raising overall safety performance. The ideal candidate will be a visible presence on the manufacturing floor, partnering closely with plant leadership, managers, and employees to identify risks, implement effective solutions, and build a culture where safety is a shared responsibility.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Lead site-wide Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives and programs.
  • Identify workplace hazards and develop effective prevention and corrective-action programs.
  • Partner with plant leadership and employees to improve safety performance and strengthen the safety culture.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and workplace assessments.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to leaders and employees regarding safety requirements and best practices.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training for employees and management.
  • Implement and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and report workplace injuries, illnesses, incidents, and near misses.
  • Track corrective actions, inspection findings, and audit findings through completion.
  • Maintain accurate OSHA logs, training records, inspection documentation, permits, and other required EHS records.
  • Establish and monitor site‑specific EHS performance metrics and communicate results to leadership.
  • Support emergency preparedness programs, drills, and response procedures.
  • Partner with plant leadership to develop and maintain an effective safety council.
  • Promote safety awareness, employee engagement, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Analyze safety data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support Lean and continuous‑improvement initiatives related to safety and manufacturing performance.
  • Travel between the two local manufacturing facilities as needed.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The successful candidate will have a strong manufacturing background and a proven history of improving safety performance in an industrial environment. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate measurable safety improvements and who have shown the ability to establish long‑term safety practices within an organization.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Safety Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 7–10+ years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Environmental, Health & Safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA requirements.
  • Experience implementing and managing EHS management systems.
  • Strong understanding of safety programs, hazard identification, risk assessment, and corrective actions.
  • Proven ability to work directly with plant leadership and manufacturing employees.
  • Strong leadership, communication, training, presentation, and project‑management skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with experience interpreting safety and health data.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively both on the manufacturing floor and in an office environment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Manufacturing experience in a large or complex organization.
  • Experience leading a significant safety‑culture transformation.
  • Demonstrated history of measurable safety improvements.
  • Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ANSI Z10, or similar EHS management systems.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
  • Process Safety Management experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Experience with web‑based EHS management systems such as Enablon, GenSuite, ProcessMap, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with environmental permits, compliance programs, and regulatory audits.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
