Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to lead the EHS strategy at the Asheboro, NC corrugated packaging facility. You will drive proactive safety culture, align site programs with regulatory expectations, and manage environmental permits and reporting.

The role reports to Operations leadership and partners with engineers and frontline staff to elevate safety performance and environmental stewardship across the plant.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in an EHS leadership role in a manufacturing, industrial, or military setting.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and EHS regulatory compliance.
• Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
• Past performance leading safety training, audits, and management compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction to achieve a proactive EHS culture through management engagement and employee ownership.
• Align plant-level safety and environmental programs with enterprise vision and regulatory expectations.
• Manage and maintain environmental permits, documentation, and compliance reporting (air, stormwater, etc.).
• Lead risk assessment processes to proactively identify and address hazards, enhancing hazard awareness and reducing risk.
• Champion a strong safety culture through mentoring, coaching, and collaboration across all levels.
• Build and support EHS training and development systems ensuring continuous learning and regulatory compliance.
• Facilitate the safety committee and change management processes, helping the team respond to evolving standards.
• Serve as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies.
