Job summary

CertainTeed Siding is seeking an experienced EHS Manager at our Hagerstown/Williamsport, MD site to lead environmental, health, safety, and emergency response programs for a large, 24/7 vinyl siding operation.

You will coach supervisors, engage union teams, and ensure risks are identified and mitigated with strong follow-up. This role reports to the Plant Manager and drives the annual EHS Plan and compliance calendars.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required in Business Management, Engineering, Health & Safety, or Environmental Management.
• 5+ years in environmental, health & safety management in manufacturing/unionized settings.
• 3–5 years regulatory compliance, incident reduction, training, audits, frontline engagement.
• Experience with environmental permitting/recordkeeping, SWPPP, SPCC, hazardous/universal waste, air/emissions, DOT/environmental shipping, regulatory reporting.
• Knowledge of risk assessment, JSA/JHA, MOC, LOTO, electrical safety, machine guarding, contractor safety, emergency response, and industrial hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Lead site safety strategy across production, maintenance, warehouse/logistics, engineering and quality.
• Own and sustain site safety programs, ProAct/behavior-based safety, 4ORMS, safe work procedures and frontline safety engagement.
• Develop and maintain compliance calendar, safety training matrix, certification tracking, audit schedule, and annual EHS Plan.
• Represent the site in OSHA/MOSH, internal, corporate, customer, insurance, and regulatory audits.
• Lead incident investigation, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and communication of lessons learned.
• Create and verify risk assessments, JSAs, work instructions, MOC reviews, contractor safety controls, LOTO/electrical safety expectations, ergonomic actions.
• Address site-specific risks including equipment in motion, forklift traffic, extrusion hazards, heat stress, dust, chemicals, slips/trips/falls.
