Job summary

A. O. Smith is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to implement, oversee, and adapt policies that improve environmental and safety performance across the facility.

You will provide leadership by developing strategies for effective EHSS programs and compliance with current and future regulations. The role includes managing the EHSS budget, representing the facility on the Global EHSS Council, and leading safety initiatives across multiple plants while mentoring junior EHSS staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Occupational Health and Safety or related field required.
• 5+ years of related EHSS experience.
• Ability to lead EHSS projects across multiple plants.

Responsibilities

• Manage EHSS budget and governance.
• Represent facility on Global EHSS Council.
• Manage EHSS through ISO-based systems and reporting tools.
• Lead routine safety tasks including HAZOPs, incident investigations, and safety trainings.
• Develop, implement, and monitor EHSS initiatives.
• Oversee workers' compensation claim process.
