Job summary

LAUKOA in Charleston, SC is seeking an Environmental/Safety Manager to lead EHS programs across Federal Facilities Support Services. You will ensure OSHA/EPA compliance, environmental responsibility, and safe operations for DHS and related sites.

The role covers hazardous waste management, training, audits, incident investigations, and documentation control, while overseeing timekeeping and cost reporting. A DHS background may be required for clearance suitability.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience managing EHS programs in federal/large-scale facilities.
• Hazardous waste training per 40 CFR 265.16 or within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and DHEC requirements as they relate to facilities operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage site-wide environmental, health, and safety programs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Develop and maintain the Safety Plan and Environmental Compliance Plan, JHAs, and training programs.
• Oversee hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal per EPA standards.
• Conduct safety inspections, environmental audits, and risk assessments across all areas.
• Coordinate staff certifications (OSHA 30, confined space entry, fall protection, PPE, spill response).
• Serve as safety and environmental compliance contact during audits or incidents.
• Investigate accidents, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain MSDS/SDS libraries, waste manifests, inspection records, and compliance docs.
• Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and drills with staff and subcontractors.
• Maintain timesheets and labor hours in Costpoint per contract requirements.
• Provide government deliverables and invoicing reporting as needed.
