Job summary

Avantor is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead EHSS&S programs at our chemical manufacturing site in Paris, KY. This full-time, onsite role welcomes relocation to Paris, KY or nearby areas, with a focus on regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and sustainability initiatives.

The role requires 5+ years in EHS within chemical manufacturing, strong knowledge of environmental and safety regulations including PSM, and leadership experience to guide cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in chemical manufacturing or related industry.
• Strong working knowledge of environmental and safety regulations, including process safety management (PSM).
• Experience with hazardous waste management and managing environmental permits.
• HAZWOPER CSP certification (24/40-hour) is nice to have.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage EHS programs to ensure regulatory compliance across the site.
• Conduct risk assessments and drive corrective actions to mitigate process and repetitive risks.
• Oversee audits, inspections, and incident investigations with focus on systemic risk reduction.
• Develop long-term EHS strategies aligned with sustainability and risk reduction goals.
• Monitor performance metrics and reporting systems for compliance and analytics.
• Lead training on risk awareness, PSM, and job safety analyses (JSA).
• Coordinate emergency response planning and crisis management with internal teams and external agencies.
