Job summary

Air Comfort, Inc. is seeking a hands-on EHS Manager to shape safety culture across our three manufacturing locations in Ohio. This role partners with leadership, works with production teams, and drives safety initiatives that measurably improve daily operations.

The position requires a B.S. in Environmental/Occupational Health and Safety with 5+ years of manufacturing safety experience, strong OSHA knowledge, and excellent leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• B.S./Equivalent in Environmental or Occupational Health and Safety; related field accepted.
• 5+ years of safety experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards.
• Environmental compliance regulations, EPA permits, recordkeeping and reporting.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to train staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety strategies across three manufacturing locations.
• Drive proactive safety culture with leadership and daily operations.
• Serve as safety resource across departments.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs.
• Ensure OSHA & EPA compliance, reporting, and recordkeeping.
• Manage hazard communication programs, SDS, and chemical safety.
• Develop and maintain safety policies and documentation.
• Monitor workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
• Lead emergency preparedness and act as first responder.
• Engage on production floor to identify improvement opportunities.

Job Summary:

We’re looking for a hands-on Safety Manager to play a key role in shaping safety culture across our growing manufacturing facilities. This is a high-visibility role where you’ll partner directly with leadership, work closely with employees on the production floor, and drive initiatives that make a measurable difference in how work gets done safely every day.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Lead and execute safety strategies across three manufacturing locations
• Drive a proactive, behavior-based safety culture by partnering with leadership to integrate safety into daily operations
• Serve as a trusted safety resource across all departments
• Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
• Develop and deliver safety training programs
• Ensure OSHA & EPA compliance, reporting, and recordkeeping
• Manage hazard communication programs, including SDS and chemical safety
• Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and documentation
• Monitor workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs
• Lead emergency preparedness efforts and serve as a first responder
• Spend significant time on the production floor engaging employees and identifying improvement opportunities

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. in Environmental / Occupational Health and Safety, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of safety experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments developing safety programs, training, and procedures
• Strong working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry
• Strong working knowledge of environmental compliance regulations, (EPA) required permits, recordkeeping, and reporting.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
• Self-motivated, hands-on, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
