Job summary

A. O. Smith Corporation is seeking an experienced EHS professional to design, implement and oversee our EHSS programs across a manufacturing environment in Franklin, TN.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, safety audits, incident investigations, waste management and stakeholder communication. You will lead EHSS activities, manage workers' compensation claims, maintain metrics and budgets, and mentor team members while partnering with site leadership to continuously improve safety and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Occupational Health & Safety or EHS field.
• 3–5 years EHS experience in a manufacturing facility.
• 1–2 years leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge and current understanding of all applicable regulations including US EPA, SSHA, DOT, OSHA, etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Excellent written & verbal communication.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Ability to manage all EHS activities and mentor teammates.

Responsibilities

• Manage EHSS activities including audits, investigations, reports, waste management, and stakeholder relations.
• Direct management of workers' compensation claims.

• Direct management of worker's compensation claims.
• Maintain EHSS metrics, record keeping, and communications.
• Manage EHSS vendors, expenses and budget
• Represent facility on EHSS Council
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Occupational Health & Safety/ EHS related field

• Excellent general problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge and current understanding of all applicable regulations including federal, state and local laws and standards. (US EPA, SSHA, DOT, OSHA, etc.)
• Ability to interpret regulations to ensure compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Excellent written & verbal communication.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Manage all EHS activities
• Manage projects and provide guidance and mentoring to other team members as needed.
