Job summary

Harvard University seeks an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) professional to provide technical and operational support, acting as a liaison for schools and departments to implement and maintain compliant EHS programs.

The role includes inspections, investigations, training development, data analysis, and reporting, with field and emergency duties, and participation on university-wide teams. Hybrid work and strong regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in occupational safety, environmental science or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years safety/EHS-related experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced operations environment with multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as EHS liaison for schools/departments and support local EHS program implementation.
• Develop and implement school/department safety and compliance plans and calendars.
• Provide oversight to EHS programs, develop SOPs and guidance materials.
• Conduct inspections, investigations of incidents, and develop corrective actions.
• Create training, maintain documentation, and generate reports for stakeholders.
