Job summary

Daniel Defense is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to lead our safety and environmental programs at the Black Creek, GA facility. The role focuses on developing policies, ensuring OSHA compliance, and maintaining training records for employees and contractors.

The ideal candidate has a risk-management background with 7+ years in safety leadership, OSHA credentials, and strong EHS project coordination abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on risk management; 7+ years in safety management or related experience.
• OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
• OSHA 501/511 certification Trainer’s Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry preferred.
• Understands the complexities of a large organization; involves others appropriately in consultations and decisions.
• Read, interpret and apply OSHA, ANSI, EPA, DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
• Partner with leadership to develop competency models and career paths in manufacturing.
• Maintain employee training records and generate reports.
• Develop and update EHS programs, operator work instructions and procedures.
• Manage OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
• Investigate accidents and perform root cause analysis; implement corrective actions.
• Facilitate safety training for new hires and temporary staff.
• Identify safety concerns and communicate with leadership.
• Oversee HAZCOM program including SDS management and chemical inventory.
• Ensure vendor/contractor safety with compliance to OSHA and regulations.
• Contribute to SWPPP, SPCC, EPCRA, and related environmental plans and reporting.
• Manage EPCRA, Tier II and TRI reporting; maintain documentation and thresholds.
• Oversee Worker’s Compensation program focusing on prevention and return-to-work.
