Job summary

TrinityRail Maintenance Services in Shell Rock, IA, seeks an EHS Manager to lead site safety and environmental programs. This hands-on role partners with Operations and leadership to build a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

You will own audits, investigations, and risk assessments while driving RCMS/ISO compliance and worker well-being across a growing facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental health, or related field.
• 5+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment (10 years preferred).
• 3+ years of experience leading employees or safety professionals.
• Certified Safety Professional certification strongly preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, RCMS, or similar management systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead safety and environmental programs to support compliance.
• Drive compliance through EHS Management Systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, RCMS).
• Lead and develop multi-shift safety professionals.
• Lead safety investigations with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Oversee workers’ compensation matters including return-to-work support.
• Own high-hazard work analysis and proactive risk evaluations.
• Lead safety committees, training, and coaching across shifts.
• Collaborate with employees and leaders to resolve safety concerns.
• Maintain records and communicate trends to leadership.
