Job summary

PPG Industries in Sylmar, CA seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to lead EHS programs for the Aerospace Transparencies division. You will implement OSHA/EPA compliance, develop improvements, and supervise EHS deployment in a mid-sized manufacturing setting.

You will report to the Regional EHS Director and drive best practices to sustain PPG’s EHS mission and vision. The role emphasizes a hands-on leadership style and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Safety Sciences, Occupational Health, Environmental Management or related discipline.
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience, preferably in manufacturing or related industries.
• GSP or CSP designation is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership with ability to balance strategic initiatives and daily operations.
• Strong knowledge of Cal/OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, risk management, and EHS systems.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills at all levels.
• Proven ability to drive change and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to site management in the development of EHS goals that drive continuous improvement.
• Engage on the production floor to support a One PPG EHS culture.
• Coordinate the incident management program and support root cause analysis and CAPAs.
• Provide technical advice on EHS regulations and prepare regulatory reports.
• Drive safety initiatives including JSA, site risk assessments, risk mitigation, and Management of Change.
• Conduct industrial hygiene and occupational health tasks such as air and noise monitoring and PPE programs.
• Lead safety teams and conduct monthly EHS trainings; participate in Emergency Response Team.
• Review EHS programs to assure compliance and suggest KPI improvements.
